About Brendan Cummins Exercise Physiology (BCEP)
Brendan is an Exercise Physiologist, accredited by Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA). Since graduating from University in 2002, he has gained a wealth of experience in a variety of health fields; from injury rehabilitation and lifestyle disease management to corporate health consulting and education. He is currently available at private rooms within a medical centre in Mosman, as well as Beyond Exercise Studio in Neutral Bay. Brendan prides himself on having a genuine interest in helping his clients achieve their optimal health through a positive, sensible and realistic approach.

Lifestyle Modification
Brendan's services include helping those in need of changing their lifestyle habits (ie. physical activity and nutrition) in order to improve their overall health and well-being in a realistic and sustainable fashion. The make-up of the program is largely dependent on the clients' needs, but may include one to one exercise sessions, home exercise programming and/or regular consultations aimed at modifying poor health behaviours and improving accountability.

Includes specialised programs for:
- Weight loss
- Improving glucose tolerance
- Reducing blood pressure and cholesterol
- Stress management
- Work/life balance

Injury Rehabilitation/Prevention
Having previously been employed by a private physiotherapy clinic, as well as one of Australia's leading Workers' Compensation rehabilitation companies, Brendan also has extensive experience in injury rehabilitation and prevention. Through appropriate exercise prescription and education, he prescribes safe and appropriate exercise programs to assist in tissue re-conditioning and strength and chronic pain management.

Chronic Disease Management
Such conditions include, but are not limited to:

* Hypertension (high blood pressure)

* Cardiovascular disease

* Parkinsons disease
* Stroke

Health Assessment
Brendan provides customised health assessments for people of all ages and abilities. The assessments range from comprehensive corporate health assessments, 12-lead ECG exercise testing for cardiac disease, customised health evaluations, body composition and fitness testing. All assessments come with a report detailing the results, and recommendations for health improvement.

Personal Training
In 2002, Brendan completed a Cert IV Master Trainer course following his university degree. So in addition to helping clients with existing medical conditions, he also has a capacity to work with those who simply want to improve their health and fitness through regular personal training sessions. Brendan conducts such sessions in a quiet, spacious exercise studio and tailors programs based on client's needs and wants.

Medicare and Private Health Funds
When referred by their GP under an Enhanced Primary Care plan or Team Care plan, clients are eligible for rebates from Medicare for up to five Exercise Physiology services per year. Brendan is also registered with most private health funds. Clients are encouraged to check with their respective fund for eligibility for Exercise Physiology services.

In addition, those with Department of Veterans' Affairs concessions are bulk-billed when utilising Brendan's services.

Made things easy to understand

Hi Brendan,
I just want to say a big thank you for the effort you’ve put in over the last few weeks, my results have been fantastic and without your motivation I don’t think I could have done it by myself.

For all those of you looking for an exercise physiologist I would strongly recommend Brendan. He explains everything so well and can really help steer you in the right direction. Thanks again

Exceeded expectations

I was originally referred to Brendan Cummins for an exercise stress test and I didn't know what to expect.

After a few visits my fitness has improved, I'm sleeping better and most importantly I feel more confident in my ability to manage my condition.

I could not be happier with the service, Brendan is very professional and continues to exceed all expectations. I would definitely recommend.

I have tried to lose weight many times and have never stuck with anything longer than 3 months, my average being 6 weeks. The main difference this time has been Brendan. I have lost 25kg over 8 months and my blood pressure is now with a healthy range.

I have found it a rewarding experience going to him both as an exercise physiologist and a personal trainer. He has helped me to stay focused and not give up when things were not going to my plan! I have a long way to go to get to my goal, but I know that with Brendan’s support and encouragement I will get there in the end!”

Great service recommend it

I saw Brendan for Sciatica pain and mobility issues. I can now walk with ease and have learnt strategies to manage my sciatica by stretching and exercising. I definitely recommend his practice.

Fixed my high cholesterol and blood pressure
